Harper's Baby Shower

My sister is expecting her first baby at the end of the Summer. She is having a sweet baby girl named Harper and I am one very excited AUNT!! My sister's friends and I threw her an animal print baby shower last weekend and it was so much fun! Here are a few pictures from the shower.

This was the cake I made. I colored Fondant to cover all three layers, then I used food coloring and a new paint brush to paint on the animal print. I also used some Wilton Glitter Gel Icing to outline the cheetah print. The bows were a little more complicated to make. Next time I make them I'll try to remember to snap some pictures and do a little tutorial.

Here was the whole spread. This was such a fun, and cute alternative to the normal pastel baby colors.

My sister's BFF made this monogram of Harper's name out of rice crispy treat.

These little H toppers were cut from Black and Pink Cardstock using my Cricut.

White Chocolate Covered Strawberries put onto sticks and stuck in a tall vase looked like adorable little Tulips. ( We stuck a Styrofoam ball into the vase to help hold the sticks in place)
The little hearts were made from melting Wilton Candy Melts, placing them in a piping bag, and then drawing the heart shape onto wax paper. I let them cool and harden from about an hour and then they peeled right off the baby.

Cheese and Cracker tray, and Fruit Kabobs tray.

We also borrowed my parent's Chocolate Fountain and had strawberries, Rice Crispies, and Pretzel Rods to stick in the chocolate.

Since my parent's home is already so beautiful, it didn't take much work at all to get the house ready. For the dining room we just hung a few bring pink tissue paper decorations from Party City from the light fixture and then I made a really simple table runner from some Pink Zebra print fabric I found at Hobby Lobby.

The cute "It's a Girl" banner was given to my by my aunt to use. I think she found it at Party City.

Here are a few more of the tissue paper Pom Pom balls.

For the mantle, we made a little clothes line. I painted to clothes pins black and added silver glitter to them, and then we hung a few skirts, a Onesie, and some adorable animal print crib shoes on it. The Onesie came from Hobby Lobby and the crib shoes came from www.HaloHeaven.com

One more shot of the cake. This was such a fun cake to make, and my sister Loved it! :)
